DECLARATION OF MARRIAGE VOWS

TRADITIONAL VOWS FULL CEREMONY.

      ROBIN do you declare that, as far as you know, there is no lawful impediment against your proposed marriage to LESLEY.  Do you accept all those present as witnesses that you are taking her as your lawfully wedded wife?  What is your answer?

   LESLEY do you declare that, as far as you know, there is no lawful impediment against your proposed marriage to ROBIN.  Do you accept all those present as witnesses that you are taking him as your lawfully wedded husband?  What is your answer?

 GROOM & BRIDE:  “Yes”

ROBIN do you take LESLEY to be your wife, to live together according to the instructions in God’s Word?  Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in times of health and in sickness, and forsaking all other woman, Do you promise to be totally committed to her as long as you both shall live?

 Groom answers: I do

     BRIDE

 LESLEY do you take ROBIN to be your husband, to live together according to the instructions in God’s Word?  Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him in times of health and in sickness and forsaking all other men, do you promise to be totally committed to him as long as you both shall live?

 Bride answers: I do

ROBIN in the presence of God and all these witnesses, make your vows to LESLEY by saying after me:

 "I, ROBIN, take thee, LESLEY, to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part. According to God's holy ordinance, and thereto I pledge thee my faith."

 LESLEY in the presence of God and all these witnesses, make your vows to ROBIN by saying after me:

 "I, LESLEY, take thee, ROBIN, to be my wedded husband. to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part. According to God's holy ordinance, and thereto I pledge thee my faith 

NON TRADITIONAL VOWS

I promise to be your lover, companion and friend, your partner in Parenthood, your ally in conflict and your greatest fan. Your comrade in adventure, your student and teacher.  Your Consolation in disappointment.    Your Strength in need and vulnerable to you in my own.  To share with you a relationship of love, tenderness and of laughter.  ADRIENNE, I love you and you are my closest friend.  Will you let me share my life and all that I am with you.

 I promise to be your lover, companion and friend, your partner in Parenthood, your ally in conflict and greatest fan. Your comrade in adventure, your student and teacher.  Your Consolation in disappointment.   Your Strength in need and vulnerable to you in my own.  To share with you a relationship of love, tenderness and of laughter.  CRAIG I love you and you are my closest friend.  Will you let me share my life and all that I am with you.

Option 1

I call upon these people present to witness that I __ take you __ to be my wife/husband. To share with you a relationship of love, of tenderness and of laughter. I will stand by you through all our tomorrows, respecting you as a person, Your individuality, your needs and changes. Moreover, enjoy your love for as long as we live.

I promise before God and these witnesses to be your faithful husband/wife. To share with you in plenty and in want, In joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health. And to join with you so that together we may serve God and others as long as we both shall live

I take you to be my spouse, to share this journey with you as my partner. I will cherish and respect you in happiness and in troubled times alike. I will seek you for love, counsel and support in good times and times of trial. I will share with you my gladness and my sorrow, my triumph and my failures. In God’s grace, I will love and honor you always with all of my heart and be faithful to you all the days of my life

I look forward to being your Christian husband, for as long as we both shall live. I will love you as Christ loved the church and died for her. I will love you during the good times and the difficult times for we know the Lord is our Savior and our guide. You shall always be my bride and I give myself to you this day.

Being here with my family and friends, I am not afraid to promise you that I will always be there for you. That I will look after you no matter what times will bring. I promise you here and now, witnessed by everybody that I will love you forever and that I will respect your ways and most of all. I promise you that I will be your best friend.
